PRE HOLIDAY BEAUTY PREP

Pre Holiday Beauty Prep

With my holiday rapidly approaching I’m starting to think about the pre-holiday beauty prep I want to do before I take off.

The words “bikini body” makes me all kinds of ragey and usually result in a lengthy rant involving ever four letter expletive I know (but seriously, can advertisers just fuck off with telling people there is only one acceptable body type that should be wearing a bikini and if women don’t fit into that they should be running themselves into the ground to achieve it) so this post definitely isn’t about trying to magically eliminate my cellulite over the next twenty days! Rather these are the things I like to do before I go away so that I look and feel my best, spend less time faffing around beautifying while I’m away and, hopefully, maximise my chances to come back with an epic tan – I’m currently so pale I’d make Caspar the Ghost look like a bronzed Adonis… Continue reading “PRE HOLIDAY BEAUTY PREP”

MAY BEAUTY FAVOURITES

May felt like a blink and you missed it month for me. It was my birthday so I packed in a fair few more nights out and birthday celebrations, which always makes time fly, and now it’s monthly favourites time again! Here are the items I’ve been using and loving this month.

May Beauty Favourites

MAC X Caitlyn Jenner Finally Free Lipstick, £15.50 › available here
I reviewed this at the start of the month so, for anyone who read that review, it’s probably no surprise that this made my monthly favourites list. I love the colour and MAC lipsticks are always a winning formula in my book. You can read my full review here. Continue reading “MAY BEAUTY FAVOURITES”

FRIDAY FIVE: SKINCARE WISHLIST

To wrap up skincare week, I thought I’d make this Friday Five all about the skincare products I’m currently coveting…

Skincare Wishlist

  1. Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque, £27 from Cult Beauty
This has been on my Must Try list for ages. I probably don’t need another clay mask but, I want one so… This one always gets great reviews so it’s only a matter of time before I cave in!
  2. Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser, £35 from Space NK
I don’t actually want this to use as a cleanser, although I hear good things about it, rather to combine it with Good Genes to use as the Sunday Riley “Flash Facial”. Currently trying to justify spending the money on it to myself.
  3. Rodial Dragon’s Blood Hyaluronic Tonic, £33 from John Lewis
I’ve only ever tried various sample sizes of products from Rodial and whilst I’ve loved everything the prices have always put my off. I’ve read a few really positive reviews about the Dragon’s Blood Tonic and was pleasantly surprised to see it wasn’t as extoritionately priced as I had expected – still pretty pricey though, but I suspect this will be my next treat for myself…
  4. NIOD Low-Viscoscity Cleaning Ester, £30 from Look Fantastic
Again, I’ve read some rave reviews about this (and in face every.single.NIOD.product) so I’m definitely intrigued to try this. From reading descriptions of this it sounds like a magnet for make-up removal so it’s something I really want to try – I wear a LOT of make-up so anything that makes that process super quick and simple sounds like a winner to me!
  5. Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Sycronized Recovery Complex II, £50 from Boots
Another one that has been on my Must Try list for what feels like all eternity. I’m yet to find someone who has used this and not loved it. As I mentioned in my evening skincare post I’m a bit of a serum newbie so the price has been the only thing holding me back – I haven’t wanted to make a super expensive mistake – but I’m going to keep my eyes peeled for it in Duty Free next month in the hopes of saving a few pennies.

What do you have on your skincare wishlist at the moment?

SKINCARE HAUL

As a self confessed skincare addict, I’m pretty much constantly searching out new products that promise to do wonders for my skin.

Here’s a quick look at the new to me products I’m going to be working into my skincare routines over the next couple of months…

Skincare Haul

HealGel Intensive, £35.00 from SpaceNK
I’ve been wanting to try one / all of the HealGel products for ages and finally bit the bullet and ordered the HealGel Intensive from SpaceNK. I’m super excited to try this out as it promises to soothe skin and target its deeper layers, increasing collagen production and decreasing fine lines, swelling and puffiness along with soothing irritation.
