BEAUTY FLASH ‣
Dermalogica Clear Start Overnight Treatment, £13, available here.
I’ve used Dermalogica products for a long, long time. I think I was 12/13 when my mum started me on their skincare range. I bought this on a whim and I’ve been really liking it. I wouldn’t say it clears up spots entirely overnight but it does a seriously good job of making them MUCH less noticeable and inflamed. At this price, it’s well worth it.

Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream (Holiday Gift Set), £40.70, available here.
I used to use back when I was a teenager / in my early twenties and I really don’t know why I stopped but I imagine it was post-uni poverty! My love for Eucerin’s Replenishing Face Cream is well documented but I wanted to give something else a go to stop my skin getting complacent. I haven’t cracked this open yet, but it I remember correctly this is an excellent moisturiser so I have high hopes I’ll fall in love with it all over again.
The Holiday Gift Set came with a mini Special Cleansing Gel (which is fab, I’ve used bottles and bottles of this stuff over the years) which I’ll keep for travelling and an intriguing silcone facial cleansing mitt – the blurb says this works with your cleanser to “help slough off dead skin cells for a supreme level of clean” – which I’m excited to give a try.

FEEL UNIQUE ‣
Sigma F35 Tapered Highlighter Brush, £15.85, available here.
By far the best brush I’ve ever used for highlighting. It’s the perfect size for applying just the right amount of product. This is the first Sigma brush I’ve owned and I suspect a few more will make their way into my collection now. They’re fantastic quality and reasonably priced.

Dr Bronner’s Organic Castile Liquid Soap in Citrus Orange, £8.99, available here.
Fab. Smells delicious and leaves my skin feeling really soft.

Australian Bodycare Tea Tree Oil Skin Wash, £12.50, available here.
Love this stuff. Antiseptic, non drying and smells great. It’s brilliant for dealing with horrifically pesky and disgusting problems like a ‘bacne’ flare up.

ESCENTUAL ‣
NIOD Photography Fluid, £20, available here.
After reading rave reviews from a few people I had to try this. So far, I’m loving it. It’s more yellow toned than the Becca Champagne Pop so perfect for when I’m a bit paler.

SPACE NK ‣
Becca X Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop, £32, available here.
Is there anything I can about this that hasn’t already been said? Probably not. It’s gorgeous and if you don’t have it, you NEED it.

Sunday Riley Good Genes, £85, available here.
I have rambled on about my all consuming obsession fondness for Good Genes before. A lot. It earned it’s place in my 2015 skincare favourites. and you can read my review here.

FRIDAY FIVE: DRUGSTORE SKINCARE FAVOURITES

I’m all for investing in skincare, after all you only get one face so why not look after it the best you can? However, unless you have a bottomless bank account, most of us can’t afford to spend a fortune on every part of our skincare routine. Here are five of my drugstore skincare favourites: Drugstore Skincare Favourites

  1. Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, £4.99 available here
Always on offer so even more of a bargain, I haven’t purchased Bioderma since I started using this. At the rate I get through micellar water, from removing eye makeup to spot cleaning make up brushes, this saves me a fortune! It’s great and, to be honest, I’m not sure I can ever tell the difference between micellar waters anyway so why not save some pennies?!
  2. Una Brennan Super Facialist Vitamin C+ Glow Boost Skin Serum, £16.99 available here.
A pea sized amount definitely does the job here so this serum lasts me ages. Enriched with hyaluronic acid, algae extract to moisturise and vitamin C I use this on a morning as a pep me up for my skin.
  3. La Roche-Posay Serozinc Spray, £8.50 available here
Love this stuff. I started using this as my hydrating toner and it’s fantastic. It helps fight breakouts, banish spots and reduce the oiliness.
  4. Eucerin Dry Skin Replenishing Face Cream, £11, available here
I’ve rambled on before about my love for this moisturiser. Without a doubt the best moisturiser I have ever used. It’s just perfect for my skin – non greasy, absorbs well and can solve my dehydrated skin problems quickly, often overnight.
  5. Boots Botanics 80% Organic Hydrating Eye Cream, £9.99 available here
I’ve had really, really, really dry skin patches under my right eye and on both eyelids on and off for the past few months. Neither of the eye creams I had seemed to make a difference so, on a whim and with a bit of desperation, I bought this. It’s made a real difference to my dry patches (they’ve completely gone on my eyelids and have almost gone underneath my right eye now as well…). I don’t really have much in the way of fine lines around my eyes so I couldn’t really comment on that but the texture of the skin has definitely improved and generally feels smoother and plumper so I imagine this might be good for helping with fine lines.

PHOTO TRAVEL DIARY: RONDA, SPAIN

So, this is a super belated post as I went to Spain at the beginning of October. Oops!

I did however want to take the time to document the day I visited Ronda, because it was so beautiful!

It was a quick five day trip to Spain with family, so most of the time was spent in and around the villa and area we were staying but, on the final day, we visited Ronda. I’d seen an amazing photograph on Pinterest just before flying out to Spain and when I did a little internet research discovered that the place in question was Ronda and not too far from where we were staying.

Ronda is in a mountainous area in Andalusia, perched upon the El Tajo canyon carved out by the Guadalevin River which divides the city in two. The Puente Nuevo “New Bridge” spans the El Tajo canyon, sitting 120 metres above the canyon floor. “New” is a little bit of a misnomer however, the bridge was built in the mid to late 1700’s.

Both Ernest Hemingway and Orson Welles spent time in Ronda, living in the old town quarter – La Ciudad. Both wrote about Ronda’s beauty and famous bullfighting traditions – the Plaza de toros de Ronda is the oldest bullgihting ring in Spain. Built in 1784 by José Martin de Aldehuela, who also designed the Puente Nuevo, and is an utterly amazing building.
