I spotted this tag on Mari’s blog, The Beauty Journal, and thought I’d give it a go. It’s my first tag so I’m not completely sure what I’m supposed to be doing but here goes!
1. If you could have anyone in the world do your makeup, who would it be?
Mario Dedivanovic. The master of the contour.
2. What’s your top makeup tip?
The business card trick when applying mascara, shown below. When you’ve spent ages doing your eyeshadow there’s nothing worse than ruining it at the last minute by getting mascara all over it.
3. What one makeup item you could not live without?
Mascara. It will always be my one essential that I’d never leave the house without. Even if I wear no other make up, mascara just makes me look that much nicer and more “put together”.
4. What one skincare item could you not live without?
It pains me to say it, because it’s so expensive, but I really don’t think I’d ever want to be without Sunday Riley’s Good Genes (you can read my review here). It’s the only thing I’ve ever used that has made a difference to my hyperpigmentation and I’m so much happier with my skin.
5. What are you worst at when it comes to applying makeup?
Eyeliner. I can do the bottom lash line no problem but anything on my actual eyelid is just impossible for me. It always looks like I’ve let a small child loose with the liquid liner. I maybe need to make it my mission for 2016 to master the whole cat-eye liner thing.
6. What’s your biggest pet peeve when it comes to beauty?
People who have a visible foundation line at their jaw/neck. Just blend that stuff down!
7. What’s your favourite makeup era?
Without exception the 1940’s. Bold red lips, dramatic eye liner and victory rolls give me all the heart eyed emoji’s.
8. What’s your guilty pleasure product?
Tom Ford Beauty and Fragrances. It’s all so expensive but so beautiful. I have no control over wanting to buy it all but everytime I do buy something I definitely have a little bit of “OMG what have you just done???!!!” buyers remorse going on…
9. What’s your underdog product?
Soap & Glory Archery 2 in 1 Brow Pencil. Everyone seems to rave about the Anastasia Beverly Hills one but this is fantastic and a much more affordable alternative at £8.
10. What’s your favourite makeup product of 2015?
I don’t know if this counts as a “product” as it’s more of a tool but the stand out item for me in 2015 was the Beauty Blender. It has made such a difference to how I apply my makeup and my base just looks so much more flawless as a result. I wouldn’t be without one in my collection now.
I’ll shamelessly copy Mari and tag anyone and everyone who wants to do this. Let me know if you do so I can hop over to your blog to read it!
