I had a teeny tiny “accident” in Selfridges over the weekend and ended up buying a Tom Ford Lips & Boys lipstick. Because I obviously need more lipsticks in my life. You understand, right?
First up, it’s fair to say that Tom Ford is a luxury brand with a luxury price tag to match. £27 for a mini lipstick isn’t exactly bank balance friendly but there’s something undeniable chic about Tom Ford beauty products – you just feel like a pulled together grown up using them.
The packaging and presentation of these lipsticks is stunning – from the black and gold signature packaging to the TF embossed lipstick bullet itself. The quality of the lipstick is also fantastic, and it should be at this price point, offering even pigmentation, no bleeding or smudging onto your teeth and a soft and smooth consistency that glides onto the lips without tugging. The formula feels hydrating on the lips and I got a solid four to five hours wear time out of this before I felt I needed to reapply.
I picked up the shade Roberto which is from the additional 25 shades added to the Lips & Boys collection last year. It’s described as a warm, mid tone metallic red, but it definitely leans more towards a coral on me. It’s a super flattering shade that I think would suit most people.
The only downside is that this has made me want to buy loads of the other shades now. I.Must.Resist.Temptation.
