I’M BACK (I HOPE…)

2018 New Year

It’s been a good while since I’ve properly written on the blog but after an unexpected 2017, that at times seemed like it would only be filled with downs and the prospect of any ups being on the horizon seeming slim to none, I figured that if I ever wanted to get back into blogging jumping in head first and drafting up some posts would be a good place to start.

I’d like to write more travel posts – I’ve always considered myself lucky to have travelled the amount I have and I’d love to do some travel / destination guides to showcase some of my must visit places around the world that hopefully might help and inspire others – along with introducing some weightier think pieces on the blog and of course keeping my lighter style and beauty content too.

So here’s to a New Year, new beginnings and a hopefully newly invigorated zest for blogging (again)…

FRIDAY FIVE: TRAVEL BUCKET LIST | WINTER EDITION

travel bucket list.jpgSo… I guess I could get into a super long explanation of why I haven’t been posting since May but, honestly, that’s just a tale of woe and misery that nobody wants to hear and I really don’t feel ready to put fingers to keyboard about. Instead, let’s jump back into a Friday Five. Because nothing cheers me up like thinking about holidays…

I’ve always been the kind of person that gets thoroughly over-excited at the promise of snow so, when this time of year rolls around, I can’t help but day dream of taking a short break to somewhere that looks like an idyllic Christmas card scene. And you’d best believe I’d want to stay in one of those incredible glass igloos… Continue reading “FRIDAY FIVE: TRAVEL BUCKET LIST | WINTER EDITION”

ONE ROOM CHALLENGE | WEEK SIX: THE LIVING ROOM REVEAL (SORT OF)

I don’t know where the last six weeks went. I especially don’t know where the last six days went. Actually, that’s a lie – I definitely know that three of them were spent drinking with friends so…that dramatically decreased my productivity and is why I’m classing this as a Sort-of Reveal. Things definitely aren’t finished and, as I mentioned way back at the start of this One Room Challenge journey, some things I’ve just had to work with because replacing them wasn’t in the budget.

I toyed with kind of quitting and not posting this “reveal” after a mini disaster last night meant I couldn’t get the coffee table I’ve DIY’d finished, because the room really does look weirdly bare without it but I’ve sucked it up and this is where I am this morning. Literally. I ran around trying to quickly take some pictures in my pyjamas this morning!

So yeah, it’s not finished finished, but it’s looking a heck of a lot closer than it was six weeks ago!  Continue reading “ONE ROOM CHALLENGE | WEEK SIX: THE LIVING ROOM REVEAL (SORT OF)”

ONE ROOM CHALLENGE | WEEK FIVE:  PAINT + A PICTURE LEDGE = PROGRESS

If you’re visiting for the first time, welcome! Here are the links to catch up on Week OneWeek TwoWeek Three and Week Four.

one room challengeI’m taking whatever positives, in terms of living room progress, I can this week. Remember how I’ve been saying that the plasterer was coming on May 2nd and how I was worried that was cutting it fine for the ceiling to dry out sufficiently to paint before the reveal? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahaha. Guess who didn’t come on May 2nd… *insert more hysterical laughter*.
