I don’t know where the last six weeks went. I especially don’t know where the last six days went. Actually, that’s a lie – I definitely know that three of them were spent drinking with friends so…that dramatically decreased my productivity and is why I’m classing this as a Sort-of Reveal. Things definitely aren’t finished and, as I mentioned way back at the start of this One Room Challenge journey, some things I’ve just had to work with because replacing them wasn’t in the budget.
I toyed with kind of quitting and not posting this “reveal” after a mini disaster last night meant I couldn’t get the coffee table I’ve DIY’d finished, because the room really does look weirdly bare without it but I’ve sucked it up and this is where I am this morning. Literally. I ran around trying to quickly take some pictures in my pyjamas this morning!
So yeah, it’s not finished finished, but it’s looking a heck of a lot closer than it was six weeks ago!
So there’s definitely still plenty that needs completing – the ceiling hasn’t been painted after getting re-plastered, the coving is up but needs painting, the fire surround / mantlepiece just never happened, the TV is way too big and doesn’t actually belong in this room, several pieces of artwork are missing and a couple of lamps didn’t arrive in time, not to mention the pesky almost-finished-but-not-quite coffee table situation BUT looking at these before and after shots from when we first bought the house I couldn’t be happier with how the room is shaping up…

I think this is my kind of room. All of those books and a cozy couch to sit down and read. You certainly have come a long way since the before pictures!
Thanks Brenda!
