I spent this weekend away visiting family so I thought I would let you all have a virtual rummage around in my make-up bag.
Everything I grabbed to take with me are tried and tested products that I know I can rely upon to just work their cosmetic magic on me!
If you want to know more about any of the products mentioned you can click on the individual images below…
For base products I took Dermalogica’s Oil Free Matte as my primer and my current go-to everyday combo of Vichy’s Dermablend Corrective Foundation in 25 Nude and MAC’s Face & Body Foundation in C4 and added in the L’Oreal Infallible 24hr-Matte Foundation in 20 Sand for the evenings along with my setting powder of choice MakeUp For Ever’s HD Powder and Maybelline’s Matte Maker powder in 20 Nude Beige (I seem to have developed quite the collection of half-finished setting powders which I’m now trying to use up).
I wrote about my current foundation routine here if you want to read more about my choices of base products.
CONTOUR, HIGHLIGHT AND BLUSH:
The NYX Wonder Stick, which I raved about here, is brilliant for cream contour. I use the shade WS02 Medium/Tan. Anastasia’s Contour Kit is always one I grab for travelling, hence it’s battered appearance and Sleek’s Barekissed Illuminator in Cuba (you can read my review here) is something I’m never without at the moment. MAC’s Mineralize Blush in Warm Soul is always a forever favourite and was my blusher pick.
EYES AND BROWS:
I’ve got naturally full, dark brows so I’m pretty low maintenance and the only product I ever really use is Soap & Glory’s Archery 2 in 1 Brow Pencil in Hot Chocolate. As I knew it was going to be a super relaxed weekend with no major evening plans I just took the one eyeshadow option of a Maybelline Color Tattoo Cream Gel Eyeshadow pot in On And On Bronze, which I ended up never using, but it’s a great easy option to just slap on. I use the Eyeko Lash Curler, which does a good job of adding curl to my long but hideously straight eyelashes, followed up by my Holy Grail mascara; Dior’s DIORshow Waterproof Mascara in 090 Black. As that’s running low, I also took along Stila’s Major MAJOR Lash Mascara in Black which has a big fat brush that I love and may come second to DIORshow in my mascara affections.
So many lip options, so little time…
My Bobbi Brown Lip Pencil in Nude is a staple product for me and I took along a NYX Butter Gloss in Creme Brulee and Clarin’s Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 02 Apricot Shimmer, both are great everyday options, along with MAC’s Lustre Lipstick in Plumful as a non glossy, more colourful option.
A Beauty Blender (you can read my review here) and a handful of Real Techniques brushes (their blush brush, expert face brush, sculpting brush, buffing brush and setting brush) had me more than covered for the weekend.
My make up bag is one of the large canvas pouches from Alphabet Bags.

I love the products mentioned in this post, especially the Real Techniques brushes. They’re so affordable and yet such good quality.

I’ve been looking for a good eyelash curler, so I may need to pick that up! Amazing post 🙂 if it’s not a problem, would you mind checking out my blog as well?
Thank you! Will head over and have a look x
Great post! We usually pack all of the essentials as well. We tend to bring a whole bag just for lipstick though! haha.
